OBJECTIVES AND METHODOLOGY
The Painting Process
- In this course we will try to practice painting as a play of forms without the need to reach a specific image.
- We will be open to the different opportunities that arise throughout the creative process, in order to understand that the importance of a work not only lies in the final result but also in the intermediate events of the journey.
- We will work on the importance of research with different materials and resources that allow us to approach the work from different points of view and result in greater value at all levels.
- We will experiment with the use of different tools that allow us to explore different effects outside of the traditional brushstroke. It is important at this point that everyone brings "tools" that are related to their daily work.Any type of tool that is capable of moving and handling paint.
The use of color
- In this course we will explore the use of color and its different applications in painting.
- We will try to get out of our comfort zone and explore new color palettes.
- The behaviour of color in its different facets.Transparencies, fillings and the importance of luminosity in the first brush strokes
- We will talk about the inherent properties of colors such as temperature, hue, value or saturation.
- We will talk about color from color itself as the main protagonist, taking intuition as a starting point.
- We will work with acrylic and oil.We will use the acrylic to work the first layers that will give way to an oil finish.
We will establish different practical exercises that will allow the student to develop the objectives of the workshop in the best possible way.
The course will begin with a brief theoretical presentation that will help us to perform an analysis of classical and contemporary references that have made color and process their hallmark.
The work will be based on photographic references that will be delivered by the teacher
